This annual competition celebrates the artistic skills of kindergarten through 12th grade students and provides a platform for them to showcase their unique perspectives through the camera lens.

A total of $20,000 in cash prizes were awarded to this year’s winners! In each grade level, the 1st place winner received $1,000, the 2nd place winner took home $500, and the People’s Choice winner—selected through public voting—earned $100.

We’re incredibly proud of every student who participated, whether as a first-time competitor or a seasoned photographer. Even more exciting, we’re thrilled to announce that one of our very own students from Digital Academy of Florida earned a top spot in this year’s competition!

Join us in congratulating this exceptional young photographer:

Emmalyn

1st Place, 2nd Grade

“My family and I love to go camping at Kars Park. We like to camp by the river to fish. One day, we were fishing, and a Great Blue Herron flew into my dad’s fishing line. The bird was stuck in the fishing line. My dad got a towel and covered the bird’s head, so it wouldn’t bite him. My dad got the fishing line off him. We gave him some bait fish and shrimp. The bird stayed close to us all day, so I decided to name him George. As it was getting dark and close to bedtime, I knew I had to say goodnight to George. The next morning, I woke to a surprise. George was still at our campsite! I had to take a picture of him. He is Beautiful Bird!”

We couldn’t be prouder of Emmalyn for her incredible achievements in this year’s competition. Her unique vision and dedication truly shined in her photography, and we can’t wait to see how she continues to evolve and flourish as an artist.

At Digital Academy of Florida, we’re committed to providing opportunities for our students to explore their talents and passions. The success of our participants in the K12 Photography Competition is a true testament to that. We can’t wait to see even more inspiring entries in future competitions!
