Pizza, Play, and New Friendships: DAOF Students Connect in Person

Stories & Spotlights
DAOF Pizza Party

At Digital Academy of Florida (DAOF), we know that learning happens online, but friendships happen everywhere! That’s why we were thrilled to host a special pizza party for several students and families in the Coral Springs area in April. The event brought together DAOF students for a fun-filled evening of tasty food, exciting games, and real-life connections.

For many families, this was a chance to see just how vibrant and social online school can be. Shahala Brookes, who brought her three children—one in sixth grade, one in ninth, and one in twelfth—shared, “Being able to be around my kids more is one of my favorite parts about coming to Digital Academy of Florida.”

“This event was awesome. Seeing the smile and happiness on my daughter’s face was priceless,” said Learning Coach Nellie Steele.

Events like these are just one of the many ways DAOF supports social development alongside academic growth. Whether it’s pizza parties, field trips, or clubs, our students don’t just connect—they thrive.
