Balancing Gymnastics and Online Academics at DAOF
At Digital Academy of Florida (DAOF), we are proud to support students like Penelope, an inspiring gymnast who is balancing the demanding world of gymnastics training with her academic responsibilities. Penelope’s journey is a perfect example of how DAOF’s flexible online learning environment helps students balance sports and education.
Olympic Dedication
Penelope’s passion for gymnastics is a driving force in her life and a major time commitment. Training up to six days a week for as many as four hours a day, she works to master all four gymnastics events: beam, bar, vault, and floor. Her dedication to the sport is fueled by a clear goal, to one day compete in the prestigious Junior Olympics.
Finding Flexibility and Support at DAOF
To pursue her gymnastics dreams while maintaining strong academic performance, Penelope and her family turned to Digital Academy of Florida. The flexibility of DAOF’s online education model allows Penelope to create a schedule that accommodates her intensive training, ensuring she can focus on gymnastics while still succeeding academically.
DAOF’s rigorous curriculum and gifted program were also key factors in the family’s decision. Penelope enjoys her math classes, where she’s thriving, and connects with classmates, making the most of DAOF’s virtual social spaces. The combination of flexible scheduling, high-quality education, and a supportive community makes DAOF the perfect choice for Penelope.
Competing at Prestigious Gymnastics Events
Penelope’s hard work is already paying off. She has competed in top-tier gymnastics events like the Presidential Classic at the ESPN Wide World of Sports at Walt Disney World, showcasing her talent on a national stage. These experiences are helping her grow as an athlete and preparing her for her goal: competing in the Junior Olympics.
