A New Era in Learning: Celebrating National Online Learning Day with Digital Academy of Florida 

When the world shifted to virtual learning during the pandemic, families experienced both the challenges and the benefits of learning at home. A growing number of families have discovered that online education provides the best path forward for their children. 

In fact, a recent survey by the National School Choice Awareness Foundation found that 60% of parents considered sending at least one of their kids to a new school last year, and 27% of those parents explored a full-time online option. 

At Digital Academy of Florida (DAOF), we know every student is unique, and DAOF was built to ensure that children across the state have a school where their needs, strengths, and goals come first. 

On September 15 – National Online Learning Day – we celebrate the different ways DAOF makes learning more personalized, supportive, and effective for students and families: 

• Personalized Learning: Students receive instruction that adapts to their pace, learning style, and academic needs. 

• Dedicated Support: Our state-certified teachers work closely with families, offering small group learning, one-on-one help, and encouragement every step of the way. 

• Safe, Comfortable Environment: Learning at home allows students to focus in a secure space, while still engaging meaningfully with peers and teachers online. 

• Partnership with Families: Parents and caregivers play an active role in their child’s success, supported by DAOF’s strong communication and resources. 

• Opportunities for Growth: From virtual labs and STEM experiences to college and career prep, DAOF equips students with skills that go far beyond the classroom. 

Carter, a ninth grader at DAOF, faced unexpected travel the first week back at school. Instead of falling behind, Carter tuned into lessons from the road and in the car with his mother and learning coach, Dr. Tennie.  

“DAOF isn’t just school at home, it’s a lifeline,” says Dr. Tennie. “The flexibility, support, and structure allowed Carter to stay engaged, even while we were away. It turned a potentially stressful week into a successful one.”
